How Our Dry Thawing Works

The Barkey Plasmatherm C&G features flexible yet durable cushions filled with continuously circulating warming fluid at 37 °C. This ensures uniform heat distribution as your samples thaw.

The cushions securely embrace cryovials and cryobags, conforming precisely to their shape for optimal heat transfer without risk of contamination. An optional agitation paddle minimizes thermal gradients and reduces thawing time thereby limiting contact with cryoprotectants.

A transparent lid provides clear visibility, allowing real-time monitoring throughout the thawing process.

Closed Loop System Supports Quality

Unlike open water baths, which pose a contamination risk due to microbial exposure, Barkey’s closed-loop system ensures a safe, controlled, and contamination-free thawing environment.

Designed for ease of use at bioproduction facilities and in clinics, the system requires minimal maintenance, with recommended yearly cushion water replacement.

Secure Critical Quality Attributes

A rapid and standardized thawing process with Barkey Plasmatherm C&G maintains osmotic balance, prevents excessive cell damage, and enhances post-thaw cell recovery and viability. Reducing variability ensures consistent results across batches.

Designed as a container-agnostic thawing device, Barkey Plasmatherm C&G brings standardization to your workflows and accommodates starting materials, QC samples, and drug products.
